As a comics nerd, I sometimes see some things akin. "Up, up and away" being a minor example.

But.

Trademarking the name of an actual virus?

Remember that the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver trademarked the phrase "With Glowing Heart" from the Canada Anthem:
