The Tenth Doctor
Dec. 26th, 2005 04:14 pmI have to admit to being a latecomer to the ranks of fans of the Doctor. I'd seen episodes from time to time in the first couple of years after moving to Ottawa, but lost interest after a while.
Last year, that was rectified by the arrival of the new series. I was pleasantly surprised to find CBC providing whatever degree of backing they have to the new series, to the point of airing the series so soon after UK viewers got their dibs: a mere week's difference, as it turned out. Mr. Ecclestone and Ms. Piper delivered on the fireworks, visual and otherwise, in spades.
And now Mr. Ecclestone's gone, and we have a new guy.
Well, from what I understand, it's not the first such change the lead of Doctor Who has undergone over the decades. First time they were able to make the transition in true style, though, in my eyes.
And tonight, we'll have the "Christmas Invasion" to properly introduce the Tenth Doctor.
Looking forward to it.
