I find out via e-mail alert from Workopolis that Slovenia's looking to hire an "Economic Diplomacy Officer" via Indeed as I write this entry. I am mildly surprised that the Slovenian government would be willing to go to such measures to recruit for an embassy or consulate.
But then, I am similarly surprised when other countries conduct similar hiring searches for other posts at their embassies and/or consulates in general. It doesn't strike me as something that should be common practice.

They may not even consider it essential that the candidate be a Slovenian national, as long as they do a good job of representing Slovenia. Which seems rather enlightened.
