INDIGENOUS RIGHTS: What's Up With the Wet'Suwet'en?

Per our Supreme Court in 1997, the land under dispute has not been ceded by the Wet'suwet'en, right?

So why is this happening? It looks like the honour of the Crown is not being properly upheld here.

So much for Canada pushing how egalitarian it is!

There's lots of things going on across Canada right now, for good and ill and "shades of grey", on the Indigenous Relations side of things. But this item underway is not leaving us looking anywhere near good right now, I think. Oil money has a habit of overwhelming otherwise saner thoughts on just about every subject, I'm finding, and aggravating bad habits that would otherwise be getting ditched.

AS I understand it the ELECTED leaders of the TRibe have a agreement with the pipeline to go through.

However the HEREDITARY Chiefs disagree and want no pipeline.

So there's a internal conflict going on.
