It's odd, I'm more likely to hold on to a broken camera than a working one. My dad has my oldest DSLR which I'd like to get back and turn in to an infrared-only camera, my second-oldest DSLR I sold to a friend as it was a tremendous upgrade to what he was shooting, my oldest Lumix I gave to my niece as a high school graduation present.
In recent film bodies, I've had three Canon Eos in the last 30 years, the two oldest are now non-functional due to shutter bumper rot.
