But still...there are Russians who understand what the people running their government right now have gotten them into...and who do not like the implications and consequences at all. Even if they ever liked the intentions behind those acts.

That is an interesting piece. It would be nice if their Kleptocrat In Chief would read it and recognize that he's overplayed his hand.

I saw a good post yesterday on Drumpf signing the defense spending bill. It contains lots of things that he doesn't like, and basically he'll be signing all sorts of "signing statements" to allow him to cut out all the things he doesn't like and re-jigger all the things he does want in to the bill that aren't there. I'd much rather we had an actual line item veto than the ability to redo what was passed by Congress - what's the point of "We The People" having a voice in legislation, albeit indirectly, if ultimately the Idiot In Chief can change it all.

SCOTUS has never ruled that signing statements have any legal weight, as I understand it.
