Since I have at least two friendlisters here at Dreamwidth who have a continuing interest in both novels and TV series of that ilk, and the production company's looking for a new American backer for the TV show now that SyFy's pulled out...well, it seems a good excuse to open up my own mic to chat about it.
I'm annoyed to have first missed and then been blocked from internet-viewing "Immolation" from last week myself, especially since they're in the process of transitioning from adapting Caliban's War to Abaddon's Gate. I'm not going to ask for help in circumventing the legal routes, because I can wait for the Season 3 DVD set.
Anyway, that's most of what I wanted to say for the moment...

Date: 2018-05-21 08:32 pm (UTC)I sat down to mainline several episodes last night and though there were some great sequences and character moments, I found myself hitting fastforward more than once I was so bored.
No wonder ratings fell.

Date: 2018-05-21 06:43 pm (UTC)We haven't yet watched the latest episode of S3, but the episodes so have been as good, as tense, as well written, as balanced between plot and character, as ever. I liked the series from the start, but it just keeps getting better. The last episode we watched had at least one unexpected exit, for which I'm sorry, but it happened in a way that was reasonable - at least given the very unreasonable character who engineered the exit. (Trying not to spoil anyone). I still want to see what happened, and what's happening, on Venus.
