Charles Stross asks about the geopolitical consequences of self-driving cars and gets some possible answers. By coincidence, CBC Radio's Spark recently delved into some other kinds of consequences.

Speaking as a bus-rider and pedestrian, I am continuing to be wary of all of this. Also, of flying cars, no matter how cool they are in the SHIELD context for obvious reasons of personal safety.

If you're really interested in self-driving cars, I recommend following Brad Templeton's blog (yes, brother of comics creator Ty). He's been thinking about how'd they'd work from a cultural standpoint for a while, and is a consultant for Google's effort in the area.
