At the risk of spoilers.
Here's some of what I saw in the course of watching Into Darkness:
Comments - veiled or not - on exploration ethics, drone warfare policy, militarism run amuck, intelligence ops blowback, what people are willing to do for the families they choose to be part of, and when a leader recognizes his own disposability for the sake of those whom that leader serves.
Also, lots of kick-splode.
It's been worth seeing twice so far, flaws and all. Your opinions have varied, and will continue to do so. Which is good.
(The title of the tune accompanying this post could have used some respect for the gender spectrum..."Enterprising Young Crew" would've been better.
Good music to listen to, though.)
