Supposing...just supposing...that I finally break down and get a cell phone and something resembling a "plan".

Make your best case as to which make and model and which provider I should be dealing with.

Fido is owned by Rogers.
Koodo is owned by Telus.
Virgin is owned by Bell.
Solo is owned by Bell.

Mobilicity & WIND are the only two companies I'm aware of that aren't owned by Rogers, Bell or Telus.

So if that makes a difference for you, you should be aware.

I'm with WIND. Good plan, not always great service since they've got spotty reception at the moment.

My sister is with Koodo. She likes it.
My other sister is with Virgin, she likes it.

And my mother is with Fido, and is looking to switch to a different company.

Decide if you really want a 3-yr plan or not. I'd go with something NOT RIM (Blackberry) because I've had a lot of issues with mine.

used to be with telus, now i'm with fido. the new androids are all pretty cool especially if you like customizing to the gills.
