A shame. A different time, a different party leader, and she could have done work that would be remembered with joy and honour. Instead, she ended up with this.
I don't know about her under another leader. Her most blatant missteps have shown not just a willingness to carry out problematic Tory policy, but to do so in the most hamfisted way possible. The KAIROS controversy was a good example -- there were much better ways to defund them than the way she went about it. The expense account thing was another. She seems to have no sense of what will look very, very bad.
My reaction to the argument made by May does not heighten my opinion of Oda -- it merely replaces an evaluation of lack of sense with an evaluation of lack of integrity.
Bev was my MP for 3 years, and had I not moved out of her riding, I would have gladly done whatever I could to vote her out in each of the ensuing federal elections.
