Finished Storming Heaven and Plagues of Night. Both damn fine books. I'm now eagerly awaiting Raise the Dawn.

One of the things I come away from reading the former volume - the entire Vanguard series, in fact - is this: I want to know more about Heihachiro Nogura. The adventures he and his fellow admirals must've had once upon a time were likely a large part of what bridged the gap between Jon Archer's days and Kirk's era.

As for Plagues of Night...it does a good job of getting first-timers up to speed on the Typhon Pact's key points whilst still telling its own tales.
