On the subject of libraries again
Oct. 17th, 2011 03:18 pmA month back, I shared some concern with others about the state of libraries in general, and some hope that Toronto's public library in particular might prove politically - and therefore fiscally - bulletproof from the assaults of the brothers Ford.
Seems that hope may have been premature and/or foolish on my part.

Date: 2011-10-19 11:53 pm (UTC)Cutting the police force, even through attrition, can have even scarier consequences. I wonder if Ford is doing it just to help drive his [or his masters'] "get tough on crime" agenda.
Another item in the Star is yet another take on why the author had to go out and buy a Car (http://www.moneyville.ca/blog/post/1072289--why-i-don-t-take-public-transit-anymore). :-(
