A Weird and Mixed Blessing of a Sunday

Well, this was a rotten day for me to lose my bus pass. Plan was to attend the ByMUG meeting re: Aperture and other related matters, and then see fajrdrako at the hospital since she was taking visitors today post-elbow surgery.

Not that I didn't get all of that done eventually anyway, but backtracking the places where I suspected that I might have lost it cost me time I might have spent enjoying lunch at the Rideau Centre before the meeting. And then there were the mildly vexing things about OC Transpo that I learned along the way.

1. Metro, a major supermarket chain in Ontario and Québec, has stopped stocking passes and tickets at their stores. Apparently, there's some sort of argument behind the scenes between Metro corporate HQ and OC Transpo. I have no clue at all as to the whys and wherefores at the moment. Anyone who's got a clue, I refer to octranspo for further discussion and revelation.

2. As to day passes, they are no longer being sold at OC Transpo's Transitway service counters. You have to have the cash on hand to buy them when you hop on board, or you can forget it.

This could be a monkey wrench for a few people's job-holding and job-hunting!

Ouch. Sorry to hear about you losing your bus pass. That soooo does not help your finances.
