Something I've noticed for the last couple of months: The statue of this gentleman warrior has been missing from its place of honour amongst the exhibit called "The Valiants" next to the War Memorial in Centretown, with a sign saying that it's undergoing repairs.

Would anyone happen to know how it came to need repairs in the first place?

My guess would be either weathering or vandalism.

Really hoping naively that it was extreme weathering.

My own suspicion is that it was hit (at its base) by a rogue car or truck.
