Some things that caught my attention today, odd or not...

The Victoria, PEI Fire Department managed to score a real bargain on eBay recently. Talk about ruthless and experimental shopping tactics for civil servants!

I owe a shout out to my friends and kin out Vancouver City and Island way! Considering the weather they've been facing lately, they deserve it!

More reasons for an updated edition of Guide to the Galaxy include the following:

• A new neighbour to the Milky Way galaxy at a distance of about 30,000 ly from Earth.
• And apparently the shape of the disc is being gravitationally "warped" to boot, just like some of those old vinyl LPs.

More grist for the mills at Cambridge U. Press, I think, to get a good book they once sold revised and back into the stores again...
