I knew there was going to be a lot of work to make that positive change stick for the long haul, watching the Obamas celebrate on Election Night 2008. But seeing them that night - and a lot of the eight years that followed - helped me keep on coping with the Bad Stuff coming from Stephen Harper's prime ministerial desk. It helped by reminding me that the Bad Stuff wasn't going to last. Obama being in the White House - flaws and all - helped keep me sane enough to keep going.
We've still got work to do, and we still have reasons to keep doing it. All over the world.
