Wrapping Up 2012

Well, this year got a bit scarier than last year for a number of different reasons. Fiscal, political, emotional...it was a bit of a wringer and I'm not anxious for next year to continue in the same way. However, life being what it is, successfully avoiding such a continuance is going to be a problem in itself. I'm not sure I dare go into much additional detail in even a friends-locked posting. Any asking for advice and/or help is likely to be done on a one-to-one e-mail, phone or in-person basis.

So...here's hoping for better times ahead, anyway. Unless you - the individual reader looking at this now, whoever you are - happen to believe in slavery (however you rename it to keep yourself comfortable with it) as a righteous practice. In which cases...well, I won't be feeling very charitable.

The rest of you, I wish only the best. Long lives, good health, prosperity, joy, love, entertaining challenges to face, and all the rest of it.

Re-reading EVERY comic?

It's an ambitious project.

comicsworthread alerted me to something that raferroberts has announced over at Tumblr that he's getting ready to start in the new year: re-reading every comic he owns.

It's ambitious of him. I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to match him, even should he fail. My collection, irrationally gathered as it's been over the decades, is far more than I can hope to handle. I should really consider a culling for any number of reasons, but it's going to be a while before I can begin to figure out how to manage it. And because I bought it all in order to read it, and some of it well before I even considered the issues of re-saleability...well, I'm not likely to get a lot for most of it should I ever sell it off.

At any rate, it's a reminder to get my other library sectors properly catalogued as best I can.

One more thing to work on in 2013.
