Can-Lit Hunger Games?

I have to admit to not having followed the books that inspired this, and yet have found myself knowing more about the premise than is perhaps comfortable.

Anyway.

CBC decided to have some fun of their own with the concept as a way of encouraging us to go (re)read some homegrown stuff. At least one of the characters' creators used to blog here on LJ and I'd be interested in his reaction in particular to this!

Mourning for the Lost Chances

The "Omnicrime" Bill has passed in the House of Commons tonight.

I am inclined to side with Joe Fiorito's recent comments on the several consequences of this bill becoming law in Canada. Chances were not just lost, but actively thrown away tonight.
