I'll begin by noting that for my Australian and New Zealander friends, it is already 2006 by the Gregorian calendar. For them, the transition's done.
Speaking of transitions:
It's been a mixed-bag kind of year for reasons I'm not going into too much detail about at the moment. Some good, some ill. Some are known to some of you from direct contact with me, some are known to you from the news from various sources around the planet and off-planet. Mostly, I've survived another year largely intact and glad to have done so and to have friends and family to enjoy the fact with, either in person or by other means.
Including this particular means, one of the newest I've gotten my hands on.
I tend to think that having it will be a good thing, however mixed the blessing sometimes ends up appearing. Perception changes as it may, and we'll deal with that as the times for doing so come along.
My thanks to all of you who've helped me stay in motion this past year, whether you read this or not. Know that what you do matters.
