My new HDMI switch works with the Mac Mini, the office loaner machine and the external monitor I need those two machines to share.

HDMI switches can be wonderful things! Our lodger Dave insists on integrating everything, so he buys ridiculously expensive (and expansive) monitors with "Built-in NEWFANGLEDNESS!", i.e. built-in switches, and they never work quite right.

Why he doesn't buy an external switch which is easily tested and returnable, as compared to a $1,000+ monster monitor, I do not understand. Massively different mindset when it comes to tech, and he has massively bigger headaches with his tech than I do with mine.

I bought this device for C$20-30. I worry about the people in mainland China who worked in the factory that made it for Canada Computers' house brand iCAN, and still...

I've had wall-to-wall grief with a dual-monitor, 4-computer HDMI KVM, being used with a Mac Mini and linux system. Both comps tend to "forget" the existence of one of more monitors, either simply blanking it, or also rearranging windows to a one-monitor config. The linux is notably worse than the mac, but still a notable time waster.

What model, manufacturer, etc. do you have? (I'm guessing yours is single monitor, but if it's *reliable* and they also make a dual monitor switch ... I'd love to replace my inadequate model.)
