I'll add a pointed question: why should *we* get the government that the rest of the electorate (lemmings, sheep, whatever you wish to call them) deserve??
The NDP never had a chance of winning, the Liberals ran a frustratingly inept campaign, and the Reformed Conservatives still couldn't get a majority. I'm not happy, but I'm not nearly as unhappy as I feared I might be.
I don't know about that characterization of the NDP. It seems like they've steadily gained seats with every election over the last five years.
As to the rest...one other thing that vexes me is that the Greens got as many votes as the Bloc...but not one seat, compared to the Bloc's almost fifty.
