Job Search: A Question About Proofreading Jobs

Noticed something for an advertisement on the federal job bank. Said job bank is administered by Service Canada for all employers advertising for help.

Anyway, the employer that's looking for a proofreader...wants them to have a driver's license.

Well, clearly you'll occasionally have to go out to the proofreading supply... warehouse?

Um, to deliver work product securely, in a company vehicle? Yeah, that doesn't really make sense.

I've worked as a proofreader, and any time carrying documents around was required, we hired a service.

ETA: What gatekeeping is there for a DL up by you? In the US, it varies by state: some allow noncitizens to get them, and it's kind of a big deal.

They want you to not track in undesirable rides and may choose your start stop times contrary to public transport are too far from it.

It may simply be a legacy application weeding tool, like a bachelors degree for delivering mail.

I think all jurisdictions require some peripheral and distance vision (certainly more than is required for proofreading) and lack of seizures to get a drivers license.
