It's gotten so I get out of bed ten minutes before the alarm-clock-radio is set for these days, just so I can avoid hearing the start of the 6 AM newscast.

I solve that problem by staying up late and watching the news coming from Europe's start of the day.

(OTOH, I don't have pesky stuff like day jobs to consider.)
