I'm not so sure.

I think the current political behaviour by oil and gas and coal businesses is a) mostly how businesses have behaved in the past at one time or another and b) particularly driven at the moment because they realise their businesses are pretty much dead because competing technology has lowered the cost of energy.

I am feeling particularly apocalyptic and paranoid these past five years, because...well, the last five years. I know there are millions of people actively working to avert, prevent, delay, etc. my worst fears and whatever else is worse than those fears from becoming real. I know this because I do know some of these people on a first-name basis. And I am still scared.
