RIP: Halifax Daily News
Feb. 13th, 2008 08:43 amI know that I still want daily newspapers in my life, even if I find the current local crop somewhat wanting from time to time and am tempted to aim my subscription dollars at out-of-town papers.
With that in mind, I wanted to send my condolences to anyone lurking or friendlisting here from the Halifax area re: the Daily News. I've seen the news reports on the announced shutdown. I'm sorry to see this happen, as the city could certainly do with the ongoing competition that until now was in play.
More on the subject of newspapers in general to come, I think. I'm just not sure as to when or what form my thoughts will take.
For anyone interested, I note that Justin Beach has some thoughts of his own on the subject at publicbroadcasting.ca.
