Looking for opinions rather than hard'n'fast answers here?

How difficult would any of you say Visio is to work with for someone already somewhat familiar with any program like MS PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Canvas, Affinity Designer, Inkscape or other competing software?

Yes, this is how March 2020 begins for me. I've got competing temp companies looking to fill an opening...

When it was an independent product I came to it from a Wordperfect/Paradox/Quattro environment (you knew I was old!). The workflow was easy and the product flat rocked. I transitioned from drafting tools to Visio to try a floor plan for an office move; I recall a very flat learning curve (prior to "everything using the same GUI).

That said, I no longer used it once Redmond acquired and dumped it. I didn't even know it had been resurrected! ...I've been open source (other than one game) for a very long time (no, I don't have suspenders).

My last two Windows programs were Photoshop Elements and Lightroom; they handled my image processing well enough. ...but the transition to pay-all-the-time was their path; I declined because I could. The state of imaging software in the Linux world had improved enough for me to bite that bullet.

I used Visio from the beginning, before MS swallowed it. Very nice program, you could use it for flowcharting code in addition to drawings. Now you can tie it to databases via ODBC to do all sorts of nifty things.

I'm not really up on all the current functionality as I do not pay for subscriberware, as you know.
