I listened to this as a podcast!

High speed rail is so necessary if we want to cut carbon emissions in Canada. But then, low speed rail that's actually useable (not one train a day) would also help.

If that's going to happen, then I'd have to start a political party from scratch. Because I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to submit to any existing party's social-media-vetting process. Even that of the one I'm currently a member of.

The odds of that "starting a political party from scratch" succeeding are somewhere between zero and none.

That's on the list of things I consider so unlikely that the odds of success don't meaningfully change if I make any effort or not. For example, my plan to win the lottery is to find a winning ticket on the ground. The odds of that are not that different to buying a winning ticket, in absolute terms.

So you can plan to have a winning political party with you as leader spring up without any active work on your part!
