And yes, OHIP still considers eye care a luxury item. Unless they're watching your eyes for signs of cancer, in which case they'll make an exception specifically for that purpose alone.

One of those issues I still have with the state of medicare in Ontario specifically, and in Canada in general. If you know of provinces or territories where eye care's considered more carefully as a general rule, please refresh my memory.

I don't understand why eye, hearing, and dental care are not standard medical coverage. I just dropped $600 on a new pair of glasses - oh, but everything is buy one, get another pair free! Yeah, but it's still EFFING SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS!

I'll be picking them up either tomorrow night or Saturday, it'll be nice to be getting rid of these cheap drug store readers and also getting my prism problem corrected.

And we can add both mental health and pharma into the bargain. It really would be a bargain. Anti-revolution insurance for them at the high end of the income ladder, right? Besides, none of those five items seems like luxuries to either you or me.
