Yep. I mean, I could pay for CBS Online or whatever it's called, but their attitude just ticks me off. I'd rather wait a couple of years and buy a used DVD/BR set. It's also the matter of having another streaming service sucking funds but more importantly potentially sucking time that I should be spending on other things. We're paying for two channels directly - HBO and Netflix, and one indirectly - Amazon Prime, though with the amount of purchasing we're doing through Amazon it's looking more like 50/50 rather than indirectly. It's like Disney launching their own streaming channel - I'm not going to buy into it, which means as much as I'd like to see the Winter Soldier/new Captain America teamup, we're not going to see it.
We're probably going to be dropping HBO temporarily after John Oliver goes on hiatus, which will be after Game of Thrones ends, I expect to temporarily pick up either Acorn or BritBox to watch the final season of Pie in the Sky and the latest season of Doc Martin, which I can do with a one or two month sub.
Understood. In Canada, we got somewhat lucky: Bell Media nailed down rights for Discovery and Picard for their Space Channel (available to cable subscribers willing to shell out for it, either in a package of channels or on its own) and Crave TV online service. And the DVD sets are inevitable too, for as long as the companies involved are willing sell it via retailers.
No word yet re: "Section 31/Mirror-Georgieu", Lower Decks and whatever other projects are in the works.
Speaking of Lower Decks, I wonder when John Scalzi's Red Shirts might get aired. I haven't heard if it's actually in production or still in turnaround/development hell.
