Parliamentary E-Petitions re: Discrimination in Canada

I signed this earlier tonight. Seems like a good idea. We have Section 2 of the Charter for our speech protections, but there are such things as reasonable limits. The Charter itself admits to such things as possible. (Yes, we have to make sure this doesn't get abused, perverted against the people it's meant to protect...such as we saw Doug Ford threaten to do with the Notwithstanding Clause in recent months.)

There's no law or initiative so perfect that the Dougs of the world won't try to abuse it. But it doesn't mean we stop trying!

(That said... I'm coming up blank on uses of the notwithstanding clause that I agree with. That one can go away.)

Our past record suggests to me that the moment we do abolish it, we will find a use for that clause that we both agree upon a week later. That prospect disturbs me.
