Further to last entry: I actually met Gail Bowen when I bought 12 Rose Street on Thursday night. No photos, but the book's been autographed! Fair warning: lots of dirty political maneuvering to go along with the murder mysteries, since the municipal elections in Regina are part of the plot's backbone.
(No, I won't tell you who wins. Go read the book!)
I hear tell that our feds are pulling their listings out of the blue pages of our nation's phone books. I would call that Problematic. Not everyone wants to use the Net to look for every single thing, whether they can afford internet access or not.
Happy birthday to
kradical, before I forget completely!
I went to see the protest on Parliament Hill against Bill C-51. Which I still think goes too far for too little. Not unlike C-30 a few years back and a couple of PM Harper's cabinet shuffles ago. Seeing as we now have the likes of Sarah Harmer and Margaret Atwood on board, along with assorted ex-PMs, ex-senior cops and spies, much of our First Nations' citizens, and a whole mess of average citizens opposed to this bill as is, I would strongly urge at least a serious rethink about the whole idea.
(Sidebar: I note that the section of Parliament Hill hosting the statue of Lester B. Pearson is currently fenced off for some sort of secured landscaping project. Near where the cat sanctuary used to be? Anyway, I hope that whatever's caused that will be resolved sooner than later. He's one of several personages in Canadian history I find to my liking for several reasons.)
I'm glad of the improved weather, but allergy season is again making things annoying.
More to follow on other topics...
