In which I succumb to the "25 Things" Meme
Feb. 8th, 2009 09:25 pmYep. I caved in.
1. I want to keep living in Ottawa.
2. I believe in the need for an independent and united Canada.
3. The best-tasting soda pop in my opinion is the BottleGreen Pressé, particularly the Cranberry-Orange blend.
4. That my professional need for good photo-reference has resulted in photography becoming a sideline hobby in its own right is not a surprise.
5. That a travel guide publisher became interested in my photos was a surprise.
6. I'm not complaining about it, though.
7. Despite my knowledge of orbital mechanics and the seasons they cause being completely natural, it still feels Wrong to have a winter day be only eight or nine hours in duration.
8. Comic books are one of the great artforms of the 20th and 21st centuries. I believe this without hesitation or reservation.
9. I still miss Da Vinci's City Hall and This is Wonderland on TV.
10. A dog is a truly noble animal. Its nobility is derived in part, I believe, from its capacity for comedy.
11. Having public transit makes my life more, not less, carefree and endurable.
12. I am a civil service brat.
13. I want to visit all ten provinces and three territories of Canada before I die.
14. I have yet to visit Newfoundland and Labrador.
15. I have to yet to visit any of the territories.
16. I want better fluency in my French-speaking.
17. I want to learn at least one First Nations language before I die. I have not yet decided which one I should focus my efforts on. (Recommendations welcome.)
18. I will offer no apologies for enjoying TV space opera, no matter how rubbery the science.
19. I intend to keep exploring Ottawa as thoroughly as possible.
20. I want to design another font, and finish the work I've begun on two earlier projects. Type design has been an interest since high school.
21. I am convinced that CBC Radio One hides some true gems in its evening schedules.
22. Fire will not solve most of my problems.
23. There is a Great Canadian Space Opera Novel locked in my mind somewhere, and I will extract and get that sucker published before I die.
24. A home inside of Ottawa's Greenbelt could be a good thing for me.
25. I have trouble letting go.

Date: 2009-02-09 06:24 am (UTC)I do admire their sense, when it comes to silly customs like Daylight Savings Time. It suffices to say that they decided to have Nunavut. :-) [DST does not apply up there.]
