What am I curious about? - The May 2019 Edition

Seems like a good question to answer publicly while I'm in the middle of carrying out a job search. Don't you think?

So...a partial list:

Space
Cartography
Languages
Indigenous culture in North America
Politics in other nations
Mapping the Milky Way Galaxy
Urban geography
Architecture
Urban design
Ottawa-Gatineau history
Canadian history
Street names
Psychology
Comic books
Chess
Soccer(known as "football" outside of Canada and the States)

There's others to be added to the list, but here's a starting point.

TREK: The First Teaser for Picard is live on YouTube

Depending on which company holds the rights for your country...mine is covered by Bell Media, so it's on the Space Channel's YouTube files.

A good radio series about health care...

...is White Coat, Black Art on CBC Radio, hosted by Dr. Brian Goldman. It's been an interesting journey towards both expertise and humility on Dr. Goldman's part for me to listen to over the years. Initially, the tag line was "Medicine, from my side of the gurney", from the POV of an ER doc.

Nowadays?

"Medicine, from ALL sides of the gurney." He's been learning a lot while hosting this show as a doctor and as a human being. Go have a listen, when you have a chance or two.

Street Names: A Follow-Up

There's a reason why one of my tags covers that topic:

I blame/praise this book: Regina: the Street Where You Live. It fired up an obsession that hasn't gone away.
