Good morning

Not crossposting this one, because...well, writing on the walls, I guess.

Health scares, paycheque issues, global politics and their consequences, deaths of strangers whose well-being I still cared about...it's not been a good year.

I want to be able to hope for a better year to come.

Week 14

It begins today.

Feeling disoriented this morning. Not sure why.

Bear McCreary: Prelude to War

Seems to suit my mood at the moment.

Mixed mood morning

Awake, but 20 minutes earlier than I'd set my clock for. Trying to find stuff and failing. Said stuff is not essential to the work by any means, but it would be nice to have it at hand on the ride to and from.

Okay...

Still here. Also, still feeling a bit worn down, mind you. There's been more stuff I wanted to talk about, but couldn't figure a way to say it so far. But that's par for the course for now.

Planning to be at the bymug.ca meeting today, as it's "first Sunday" again. So there's that.

Anyone have much trouble with their clocks today?

For some reason...

...this song by Neko Case suits me at the moment.

And so does "It's Probably Me" as performed by Sting.

I'm sitting down here

And I'm trying to figure out what to say next.

Too many wrong things come to mind right now, though.

On the Eve Itself: 2006

That song sums it up for me right now in so many ways. Some of them are funny. Others, not so much.

And less so as the years go by.

I was telling [livejournal.com profile] fajrdrako just a few minutes earlier: it's creeping me out.

Christmas, Chanukah, and the rest of it for this time of year, it should be covered in snow by now. Covered in it.

And I'll say it again: it's creeping me out.

I grew up in the prairies provinces, and there, when winter hits you, you know you've been hit. Or so it went when I was a kid. Some years now, even there, the rule doesn't hold up as firmly anymore.

It's not Right.
