That fucker 45 is out to kill off one of the best things in my cesspit of a country. The USPS might be the last remaining major institution that has a commitment to serve everyone.

On July 1st the price of sending a parcel from Britain to the USA rose by an average of 49%, because Trump decided he didn't want to play ball with other countries on postal charges. Nothing he does with the postal services would surprise me right now.

I remember the kerfuffle re: the Universal Postal Union (which has apparently rebranded as the "World Postal Business Forum"). If you're interested in more on that UN-affiliated agency...?

I've known the "Conservatives" have been trying to destroy the post office for a long time since it's tremendously cost effective. I did not know the 2006 bill required 75 years of pension funding! If somehow he manages to get reelected in November and survives a full term, this will certainly destroy the USPS.

Yeah, I've known about that pension wrench thrown into the works for a few years. My apologies are owed here. If I'd known that not all my American friendlisters knew about it too, I'd have pointed it out earlier.

I knew about the pension thing, I didn't know it was 75 years worth of pre-funding.  I worked for a pension/actuarial company, so I know something about that industry.
