Crayola is pushing today as National Crayon Day.

Today is also the annual Day of Transgender Visibility, and has long been so.

I am thinking that the connection here can be both useful and entertaining.

I'm all for more colour in the world, not USian brand names though. ;-)

Seems fair, at least until 2028. Not sure who's available as an alternative right now, though. I've left e-mails with DeSerres and Wallacks, the main local retailers of art supplies, asking about the possibilities.

Europe (e.g. Caran d'Ache) and Japan (e.g. Pentel) have several manufacturers but I doubt if they have much market share in Canada or where they also have factories outside their HQ territories.
