Musk just announced that he's reinstated Trump's account.

What next in this firehose attack on democracy?

The Trump Reinstatement is exactly why he cited/expected threats of employee sabotage to bar the premises over this weekend, isn't it?

For the record: I voted against reinstatement. It wasn't going to matter to Musk what the actual results were, and I still voted against.

Yeah. I'm probably going to sign up for one of the existing Mastodon instances before much longer, because Twitter will likely break over the next little while anyway.

I am currently laying bets on which lasts longer, twitter or a head of lettuce.

I'm not putting money on it. I won't get much if the head of lettuce wins - as seems likely - and betting on Twitter right now with the current management?

A lot of marginalized people are going to have their lives upended again when that crash happens.

I voted "no" because why not, just in case it was free and fair? My side could have gotten lucky. I didn't say anything to Musk in the process, because what would the point have been?

Someone posted a photo of engineers still at Twitter and I'm sure there's reasoning behind that particular group of people in that particular photo (like they were all having lunch together or all discussing a specific problem together or all sucking up to Musk at the same time) but every one of them looks like they might have to worry about work visas.

It there's an upside to Twitter having Trump on again, is that leave TRUTH media no reason to exist.

And all those who invested in it will lose all their money and twist in the wind.

Apparently Trump has turned down the offer.

Trump said he wouldn't come back to Twitter prior to and even after the removal of his ban on it. Not sure what Musk hoped to gain from this, but who knows maybe Trump will change his mind. Either way Twitter's future looks more grim with each day.
