Definitely new printer tomorrow.

I've had enough of problems with this one after five years.

Where's a good place in Ottawa to offload a used OfficeJet 7612? Other than Staples?

Good luck with it!  I'm just glad you're not going with HP, their change in their terms - literally overnight with no notice - have lots of people fuming.

Any thoughts about re-inking an older HP or daisy chaining an inkjet to a semi-21st century computer?

As far as re-inking is concerned, my main suggestion would be to search the internet.  There's plenty of DIY re-ink kits, but if the cartridges that you have on-hand are too old, they're probably too crusty to re-ink and should be replaced. Are you talking a printer that is the old parallel port and you want to connect it to a USB-based computer?  There are protocol converter boxes that can do that, but honestly, if it's that old I'd seriously consider replacing it.

We have six computers and one laser, and it isn't set up for sharing.  HP bought Samsung's printer business, which sucks as Samsung was highly regarded.  I can't get a Mac driver disk worth anything.  I should try to configure the WiFi side of the printer with my Win 10 laptop, just haven't bothered.
