Meditating on the Subject of the Fourth

I would see the United States restored to some degree of actual good political health. No matter the number of its citizens who now seem dedicated to doing wrong and praising - worse, believing, in some cases! - that wrong as if it were virtue. Some of you reading this now, I know to be in some agony over that fact. Seeing strangers, co-workers, neighbours, family...giving themselves over to such thinking.

It hurts.

I wish you solace.
I wish you hope.
I wish you strength of mind and heart.
I wish you justice.
I wish you joy.
I wish you peace of mind and heart.

May this Fourth of July be another, better step on the road to those things.

What we need is politicians - OF BOTH PARTIES - to be responsible to the Constitution and the country AND NOT TO THEIR EFFING PARTY.

*SMH*

With crap like the SCOTUS punting on the gerrymandering case, it could take decades before this country is rational again. I don't know if it will happen in what remains of my lifetime. All in the name of partisanship.
