Someone should inform Margaret as to whom those 'Black Bloc' members really were, i.e. carefully planted cops, just like in Montebello.

She may have her own ideas on the subject. We might hear more of them in due course. Also, I'm wondering if Justin Beach doesn't have a useful thought or two (http://justinbeach.blogspot.com/2010/07/whether-or-not-there-were-agents.html), regardless of the truth of that aspect of the matter.

Whether there were plants or not doesn't matter, and, yes, it is for a Board of Inquiry to find out. But, for me, the fact that, in Montebello, the police were caught redhanded with rocks in their hands, suggests to me that they're quite capable of it. That's what scares me.

It is because of issues like these that I wrote this book review (http://duncanmac.livejournal.com/36940.html) a year ago. It is still relevant; the Augean stables still need cleaning in the U.S. (though Obama has done some things to clean them up) and our PM in Canada is doing a Very Good Job of repeating the same mess here.

I remember reading that review in particular, and of that book in a more general way. Fair concerns all, and I don't believe we're going to be allowed out of the woods on our own recognisance just yet.
