COVID-19 is Not Done With Us

As a reminder:

"The bottom line is that, even if you had a mild case and fully recovered from the initial Covid infection without getting long Covid, your immune system has been compromised. This makes it more difficult for your body to resist other pathogens, like RSV and influenza viruses, which would account for the increased rates and severity of those infections that are now being seen. There is also evidence that Covid causes permanent, long-term changes in the immune system that are similar to AIDS."

I've been infected once.

I'll say this again:

I do not consent to reinfection.

I will not submit to reinfection.

It's all playing out in the same way the "Spanish Flu" did in 1917.
The effects of that were worse in the 2nd year and wasn't close to "over" for about a decade.
Fun Fact: From what i can tell (IANAMedDoc), the damage from Covid is much worse than that "flu", and the long-term effects are cumulative. That's not referring to so-called "Long Covid" which, from what i can tell, is not in the effects i've referred to.
Also a Fun Fact: That "flu" had bad effects on babies. They were born with issues for 20+ years after. No reports i've seen on today's babies yet. Best guess: Yes, it's going to happen with Covid also.
Avoid infection if you haven't been already.
Avoid re-infection like it's the Plague after you, because it is.

Sorry to be so cheerful but i do "reality" and rarely manage to not "tell it like it is."
(It's what those who fix things do. I got paid lots because i was good at fixing things.)

I've had Covid twice, at least, both because of our roommate. I've had RSV probably twice, since it's not specifically tested for, not easy to state definitively.

We'll never be rid of Covid. It sucks.
