Notes While I Job-Search - 1 April 2022

1. Cities have a positive value. We ignore and defy this truth at our peril.

2. The Indigenous, Métis and Inuit nations sent delegations to the Vatican regarding the crimes of the Residential Schools. They got a response they hoped for, but didn't quite anticipate coming so quickly or so clearly. More work to be done in the months ahead, yes...

3. Can you do a road trip with an EV? I think we're closer to "yes"...

Keeping cities clean, safe and functional [without going into gentrification, which is bad for poor people] is good. I live in a city [though I live in a semi-rural part of it] and I could not survive in a small rural town where the nearest hospital/store/etc is miles away.

It's good that Pope Francis apologized, though I would like to see the Vatican make restitutions to them for the crimes done.

It's exciting to see development of EVs.

Apologies are fine but the Catholic Church should be stripped of its wealth and that money needs to compensate Indigenous communities for the harm done. As well, any surviving residential school perpetrators need to be brought to justice.
