RIP Sue Marsden
I found out two hours ago via Facebook: Suzanne Marsden is dead.
She ran the Ottawa Comic Jam (the link has a "mature content" warning, FYI), which is how I got to meet and know her and count her as a friend and mentor to artists across the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau.
My last contact with her was last Friday via text message, and we commiserated too briefly over the passing of Dennis O'Neil as announced that day.
However, whenever, we restart the Jams in person as a community of artists, it can't and won't be the same. It shouldn't, really.
I'm sorry I didn't stay in closer contact, whether by phone, e-mail or text.
I will miss her.
I did thank her, if memory serves, the last time we spoke with each other in person. I don't remember what I thanked her for, but it should have been for more than it *was* for.
Rest well, Sue.
Update 7 June 2022: I learned four days too late that she got her obituary published.
