OPINION: The kinds of leaders we need...and the kinds we don't

I think that Professors Krugman and Harari hit this right on the nail-head.

The kinds of strong leaders we actually need are in place in multiple nations, several US states. Macron, Merkel, Ardern, Trudeau and others at the national level. In the US states: Newsom, Whitmer, Cuomo, Hogan, Inslee, Polis, and more. (Those are incomplete lists, and I beg forgiveness for that.)

I'm leery of Polis's decision to reopen things starting Monday. Though I appreciate the gradualism, I think it's too early.

Yes. And I can see it being sensible to open up a little and take the temperature data provides under a slightly more open regime.

I bet he's glad that Denver's staying shut down longer.

My county has decided to defer reopening to May 8, following Denver yay!

Meanwhile an as swipe on my nextdoor list is trying to recruit fellow assholes to go protest continuing closures, because he doesn't want to stay home any more, and LIBERTY!

I'd like to nominate Daniel Andrews, premier of Victoria, AU, to your list. He's been fantastic.
