Internet at 30: Consequences?

Do we really want an Internet of Things?

Maybe I've been listening to too many episodes of Spark...

Have you read Click Here To Kill Everybody?

We do not want an Internet of Things.

I most certainly do not. I thought it was a bad idea when such devices started appearing, and nothing has improved my opinion.

A friend of mine in DC woke up in the middle of the night hearing voices. Thinking it was a burglary in progress, he crept downstairs. It was his Amazon or Google device complaining that there had been a power failure and it was no longer connected to the internet.

I don't.

I want something that will clean a bathroom (all of it, all parts, all sparkling and lovely) all on its own.
