Fighting With Facebook Again

I've been having troubles trying to log into my own account there ever since last night. I've been forced to set up a second account again, just to be able to log into my real account and reset the password...and it doesn't recognize my e-mail address and password combo as legitimate despite my having set it up myself. Repeatedly.

When I try to recover my actual real account, the system keeps diverting me into the second account...which I did not want to create, let alone maintain in the first place.

HELP!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with FB crap. Good luck.

Congratulations - these are the kind of seemingly minor things that can lead one to climbing a clock tower with a deer rifle, so beating it with a workaround is excellent news.

No real help here, just some data points that may congeal with other things you know and prompt a revelation: FB wouldn't let someone I know change the email on her FB account. So, even though that email is long gone, she still uses it as her sign in name. Even though anything sent by FB to the old email will go doink, it was the only way for her to keep her account.

I think a person can add an additional email to the account (in fact I had FB harvest a work email address and add it to the list attached to my account), but there doesn't seem to be any way to remove the original email address.

Very weird.
