Sketch Practice: Val di Fontaine

One of my favourites of the old guard SHIELD comics characters. She's gone missing in the course of the changing of the guard these last few years since Secret Warriors ended, but I hope Marvel's got long-term plans for her. (As in "not killing her off"?)

I THOUGH she went bad? Or am I wrong?

(I started Secret Warriors and didn't like it, so I never saw how that ended up...)

SPOILER ALERT

Val didn't "go bad" so much as turn out to have had a more complicated and hidden history all along than we all thought: as a Leviathan agent infiltrating SHIELD on a "just in case" basis, becoming a core member of Fury Sr.'s command staff and a more personal relationship with Fury Sr. himself besides, helping to save the world more than once before becoming a triple-agent within the HYDRA organization as shown in Secret Warriors...wherein it all came crashing down on her.

Last we saw of her, Nick Sr. was about to bust her out of German custody - to which she'd willingly surrendered. Dum Dum - or the LMD believing himself to be Dugan at the time if we believe Original Sin's sidebar stories - informed Cap of his suspicions on that score, so who knows if Cap pre-empted the need for any prison break.
