Medical Stuff - Mid-October 2024

Dental checkup is done. No new work expected between now and May next year, by which point I expect to be signed up to the federal dental care insurance plan. Pre-paying for my dental care through my taxes will be somewhat easier than out-of-pocket payments, I expect.

What else?

Tomorrow, I get COVID vaccine dose # 9. I would like to have Novovax(?) for that, but Canada's not getting any of the newest formulation. I am unclear as to why none was ordered. So are a lot of other Canadians.

Also, I am getting my influenza vaccination in the same appointment. May as well, right?

There don't seem to be any problems with having the covid and flu vaccines the same day, I've done it a couple of times now. I think that they're working on a combined vaccine so it's one actual injection, not two, but that's still a way off.

The other ones they do at the same time are the pneumonia and shingles jabs. I've got the second shingles jab coming up soon and I must remember to check if they want to give me pneumonia vaccine again at the same time.

We got the updated Moderna this time- it has always be Pfizer previously

I was explaining to somebody only yesterday that I've never turned down a vaccination. It's concerning how many people are surprised / shocked / horrified to hear this and feel free to express that to me.

I got my TDAP yesterday evening as planned. Regarding Novovax, blame Ford and cronies. ;-)

I was surprised how eager my local pharmacy was to give me a flu jab at the same time as my last covid booster. I think they asked three times. (I tend to feel lousy after any vaccine, so very much didn't want two at once.)
