Roller-Coaster: From Joy to Crankiness

Yesterday, I got nailed with one of those 12-24 hour stomach bugs yesterday. Was not a happy occasion, by any stretch.

The day before that, though...that was fun.

I was at the Arrow and Loon, a restaurant/tavern at Fifth Avenue Court down in the Glebe, attending a gathering of Saskatchewan Roughrider fans to watch the Western Conference final of the CFL. Good company to keep, the results of the game itself were happy ones, and the food was good.

Damn the timing of that stomach bug, though.

Here's to a Grey Cup victory for the 'Riders!

(Yes, I know I live in Ottawa. I spent ten years or so living in a house with a direct line of sight to Taylor Field from my parents' bedroom window, though. You don't "recover" from that kind of thing.)

I hope you feel better soon!

I seem to be past the worst of it now, thanks. It'll be slow progress working my way back to solid foods over the course of the day, naturally...

Days like this are what liquids were invented for.

I know the Arrow and Loon very well!

They have those funny rolled up things ont he menu there that I've never seen elsewhere. Antehitos or something? Also, lots of good beers.

Hope you feel better, dude.

Antehitos?

I have to admit that I wasn't looking for that, although I did have their peppercorn steak.

Hoping to visit the place again...

As to the health issues...

...for reasons I won't go into here, I have strong reason to suspect my stomach was upset by something other than the cooking at that restaurant and that I would've caught this particular bug sooner or later anyway. Luck of the draw that I caught it from the chief suspect in question is all.

Feeling better? OH yes. Not much of an appetite right now, but solid food's back in the diet again.

As I said: Taylor Field. From the back yard of the house. For a decade. Along with the SGI Building, Regina's then-new City Hall, the SaskPower Building at the Cornwall Centre, and I forgot what all else.

As to that last?

You hope.

That aside, I hope the Season treats you well.
